Because they are considered a more difficult species, they do best with keepers who can provide steady conditions and regular observation to ensure they stay active and healthy.

These isopods should be watered and fed about twice a week. Their diet can include yams or other root vegetables, along with a good-quality fish food to provide necessary protein. Any uneaten food should be removed before it molds, and the enclosure should offer both moist and slightly drier areas so they can choose their preferred microclimate.
