Ivory Spikey Isopods (Laureola sp. “Ivory Spiky”)

Ivory Spikey Isopods are a very small species known for their delicate spiked appearance and active nature. As the earliest Vietnamese spiky isopod bred in captivity, they are commonly found in leaf litter and occasionally in foliage in the wild. While they can be prolific under ideal conditions, breeders have noted that colonies may thrive for weeks before experiencing unexpected population declines. Due to their specialized care needs, they are better suited as pets rather than for bioactive setups.

Care Information

• Requires a high humidity environment (80% or higher)
• Should be fogged and fed twice a week
• Diet includes yams, root vegetables, and fish food
• Best housed with ample leaf litter and moderate ventilation
• Prefers vertical space between leaf layers for natural roaming
• Juveniles may initially hide in moss before becoming more mobile
